A good leader is a coach. A mentor. They want you to succeed. That’s what I abide by when I’m managing anyone.”
“I really enjoyed studying finance,” says Pooja. After spending her whole life planning for a career in science, she explored different business areas and found her passion for finance, so she pivoted to the business world.
Pooja’s MBA experience, including live cases and a consulting project with organizational partners, equipped her with the strategic thinking skills to tackle any challenge. Learning through finance modeling, investment simulations and gaining a deep affinity for Excel, she loves the creative problem-solving aspect of finance.
“Finance can seem structured, but there are many times that you can get creative, think outside the box, and try to solve problems. That adds to the fun and spontaneity to your day-to-day responsibilities.”
Throughout her career, she has focused on roles that allow her to strategize while making an impact, deepening her interest in finance with each experience.
While not planned, each company I’ve worked for was helping a community. They’re socially conscious and want to make an impact. Yes, profitability absolutely matters, but so do people. I want to be a part of a company that actually walks the walk when it comes to socially responsibility. If they are not, then I guess it’s not the place for me.”
